About Us
It all started for my own beach and sailboat dog because I was tired of rust stained fur, seized leash clips and lack of durability.
I hand make each piece with Rust Proof stainless steel hardware, marine grade nylon webbing, UV resistant thread, premium contour clips, adjusters & strap-keepers. The ends are fused then triple stitched with the box stitch on the collars keeping the dog tags farther from the clip for less jingle. The strap-keeper holds the collar or harness fit & keeps the excess adjustment loop tight to ensure your dog's safety and comfort.
Nautical & coastal designs or basic webbing dog gear for the salty dog and owner. A new line of repurposed sailcloth & spinnaker sails with rope leashes.

Our Story
Wet Dog was inspired by and named after Mootz, my original "Wet Dog", a purebred Cruzan Coconut Retriever, AKA a rescue. We lived in the Caribbean, spending time on the beach then living on boats before moving to North Shore, MA & doing the same.
I was frustrated with the rust & rot that happened to regular materials in the coastal environments so my first modification was a boat shackle to replace her collar D-ring in 1998. I started using more marine materials with added features I wanted in a collar. Finally, I found a lasting combination of functionality and durability.
Find me Saturdays at the St. Augustine Amp Farmers Market 8:30am-12:30pm in front of ticket booth! Most of the time with my Sailrite sewing machine in tow.
